("Spark" or the "Company") (NASDAQ:SPKE), an independent retail energy services company, announced today that it has commenced a public offering of its 8.75% Series A Fixed-to-Floating Rate Cumulative Redeemable Perpetual Preferred Stock ("Series A Preferred Stock") pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement on Form S-3 previously filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (the "SEC"). Spark will grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase additional shares of Series A Preferred Stock. -updated 1/23- Spark Energy, Inc. ("Spark" or the "Company") (NASDAQ:SPKE), an independent retail energy services company, announced the pricing of a public offering of 2,000,000 shares of its 8.75% Series A Fixed-to-Floating Rate Cumulative Redeemable Perpetual Preferred Stock ("Series A Preferred Stock") at a public offering price of $25.25. The underwriters have been granted a 30-day option to purchase up to 250,000 additional shares of Series A Preferred Stock from Spark, exercisable in whole or in part, at the public offering price less the underwriting discount. The offering is scheduled to close on January 26, 2018. |

Co.'s business consists of two segments: Retail Electricity, in which it purchases electricity supply through physical and financial transactions with market counterparties and independent system operators and supplies electricity to residential and commercial consumers pursuant to fixed-price and variable-price contracts; and Retail Natural Gas, in which it purchases natural gas supply through physical and financial transactions with market counterparties and supplies natural gas to residential and commercial consumers pursuant to fixed-price and variable-price contracts.
